ManageBac integrates with AssessPrep to revolutionise on-screen examination preparation

March 27, 2017

Faria Education Group, the learning platform provider for international schools, has partnered with AssessPrep, a cloud-based online exams platform to help schools and students manage online exams and prepare for the International Baccalaureate (IB) eAssessment in the Middle Years Programme (MYP).

AssessPrep directly integrates with Managebac, a tailored curriculum-first learning platform, serving over 2,300 leading international schools in 120 countries. AssessPrep provides mock test creation, examination delivery, on-screen marking and exam analytics. The examination conditions directly mirror those provided by the IB in MYP eAssessment, including an offline application, a variety of question formats ranging from multiple choice to short answer questions. Teachers are also able to include interactive questions that incorporate labels, graphs, and flow-charts.

Theodore King, CEO, Faria Education Group, said: “eAssessment represents the future for both in-class and externally assessed examinations; our partnership with AssessPrep represents our commitment to follow this trend and provide a seamless experience for teachers and students alike. This integration gives both schools and students the opportunity to utilise the important exam preparation period, giving time for the students to get used to the interface and different styles of questions that the MYP eAssessment uses.”

To streamline the on-boarding process for existing schools, ManageBac can automatically set up subject classes together with student and teacher accounts into AssessPrep.

Last year the first cohort of students in the IB Middle Years Programme sat for on-screen examinations as part of the MYP, and over 1,000 schools around the world are preparing for eAssessment as standard practice in the future.

Angelica Nierras, Managing Director, Faria Education Group, said: “To further support adoption of eAssessment, Faria Education Group will facilitate user-generated question banks and mark schemes, and we invite our schools and teachers, especially those with examinations experience, to contribute to this development.”
